Sisters in Scripture Verse Two

Welcome back!  It's the 15th of the month so you know what that means. . . time to post your second verse!  Before I post mine, I thought it might be helpful to share more tips on memorizing scripture.  This article also has some great information on resources available to help with the process.  Read the article here.

Let's quickly review how you participate in this challenge:

1. Choose your Scripture to memorize.  If you're struggling with this, feel free to choose one from the verses posted by your Sisters in Scripture in the "comments" section of the March 1st post.

2. Go to the green bar at the bottom of this post and click on "comments."  A box should appear for you to write you verse in and then, click the blue "Publish" button.

3. You must comment from a computer as the blog does not currently accept comments from any mobile device, including tablets.  If you don't have access to a computer, email me your verse and I'd happy to post it for you.

If you are new to the blog and would like to be a part of this challenge, you'll need to post two verses in March to keep up with the commitment to memorize 20 verses in 2014.  So, all you need to do is go back to the March 1st post titled, "Sisters in Scripture Verse One" and add your first verse to the "comments" section there.  Then, add your second verse to the "comments" section at the end of this post.  We would recommend choosing two shorter verses for this month if you are just joining us.

Sisters, please know that we are praying for you to be successful at this.  We do not take your commitment lightly and we stand beside you in prayer trusting God to keep us strong in this endeavor.  There is power in God's Word and the more we have of it in our hearts and minds, the easier it will be to access that power when we need it.  And, we do need it!

Okay, here's my second verse:

Julie, "You are My witnesses," declares the Lord, "And My servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe Me and understand that I am He.  Before Me there was no God formed, and there will be none after Me." Isaiah 43:10 NASB

I love this verse and I'm excited to commit it to memory.  Isn't it a comfort to know that there is only one true God, and it is Him and only Him that is in control of everything?  There is nothing like the power of God!

Okay Sisters, it's your turn.  Share your Scripture and get busy memorizing!  See you again on April 1.

For, whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech.” 1 Peter 3: 9-10 NIV

  5. Cecilia Grabowski …When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Colossians 3:4-8

  11. From Jen Mallin....Not sure if ok to add a comment or not but my 1st verse Phil 4:13 "I can do all things thru Christ who strengthens me." ended up being a verse one of my daughter's volleyball team members has written on her ankle support and she touches it with her hand every time before she serves....it reinforced the verse to me and was a testimony to my daughter too.....

  12. Thanks for the comment, Jen! Of course it's okay :) I enjoy learning about why a particular verse is meaningful to someone and I'm sure others would too. We just wanted to have the verses listed first so anyone could read down the list and focus on Scripture. Please feel free to share anything following your verse!

  17. Lisa Passyn - I didn't post on the 15th because I kept running into computer issues at home. But this is what I memorized: "Do not fear for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will hold on to you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10

  18. Gail Dean - We are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels or demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8: 37-39 NIV

  20. Katie Anderson - I seriously was ready to post Hebrews 11:1 and then looked at the above comment to see my dear friend Lisa posted the same one! I guess this is a "God thing" so I'm keeping the same one!

  21. Susan Schmotzer - Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. Habakkuk 3:17-18 NIV

When I came across this verse it was a time where God just reminded me through it that regardless of what the circumstances look like He is still there and
I can be glad in that.
